5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Work Out

motivation workout

Do you like workout? Or are you afraid of it? I used to be lazy and afraid of workout because I think it’s really hard and impossible for me. But now, I exercise 4-5 days per week and am even addicted to it. How can I be so motivated? I am not a workout expert but I would love to share my experience with you.

1) Remember why you started

I started not only because I want to be healthier but also my skin to be better. I noticed that my skin is much better after a period of time of workout because sweating helps detoxify our body as well as our skin. Less breakout and comedones were noted. The appearance of your skin is glowing and renewed. This motivated me a lot to workout!

So remember why you started and what advantages you think you will get after workout, you will be motivated!

2) Put on your beautiful and cool workout clothes

I will buy some pretty workout clothes and put them on when I work out. You can see and follow up the progress of workout on your body figure clearly. You will also be delighted, confident and motivated to wear those pretty clothes when you workout, or even when you look in the mirror! :D

3) Set goals and give yourself challenges

I know it will be hard to start especially if you don’t have any workout habit. You know, when I start the workout on Day 1, it’s really hard. I did the workout for only 10 minutes but had to rest for an hour! Shortness of breath, dizziness, tinnitus…It seems so exaggerating, right? But it’s true! I know I can’t tolerate more on that day. But I give myself challenges every day after that.
On Day 2-3, I did the workout for 20 minutes and felt better.
On Day 4-5, I did it for 30 minutes.
On Day 6-7, I did it for 40 minutes and tolerated well.
I am so proud to have completed the challenges finally. Besides duration, you can also challenge yourself in terms of intensity. Remember, start small and easy!

*The "Day 1-7" I mentioned above doesn't mean you have to exercise every single day, but you are suggested to do it regularly, let's say start from 2-3 times per week.

4) Take photos

Take photos for your happy sweating face and body figure after workout every time. You can remind yourself how happy you are after workout and not to give up! Of course, you can also ‘follow up’ your skin condition and body shape through this.

5) Make it a priority if you can

I know we don’t always have time to work out as we are busy at work. But I will make it a priority. For instance, I will do it before work or gather with my friends. You will then feel you have achieved and completed a great task, you can do any other things you want afterwards. I won’t let myself slack off on exercise, at least not more than 2-3 times a week.

Got motivated? YAY! Don’t think it is impossible! It is definitely possible! I hope these 5 tips help. Do you have any other tips? Share your thought and ideas with us and we’d love to know. :)
